Football Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 21-14 to the Ottumwa Bulldogs. The Railsplitters lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-21 score last time.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ottumwa, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will welcome Sioux City North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Railsplitters will be up against the Stars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ottumwa, they will square off against Southeast Polk on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.25 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
