Softball Recap: Kearney Catholic Drops Season-High Score on Raymond Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kearney Catholic). They blew past the Raymond Central Mustangs 20-0 on Tuesday. Considering the Stars have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Raegan Ruyle made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Maya Rahmann was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Pfeiffer Adkisson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Kearney Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Kearney Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Raymond Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

As of now, neither Kearney Catholic nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
