Softball Game Preview: Ponca City Wildcats vs. Stillwater Pioneers

The Ponca City Wildcats will take on the Stillwater Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ponca City 3.1, Stillwater 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ponca City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Perry on Monday. They fell 6-2 to the Maroons.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Stillwater's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tushka.

Ponca City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Stillwater, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Ponca City came out on top in a nail-biter against Stillwater in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
