Alyssa Briggs has been named player of the year. "Alyssa had a senior year for the ages. Without question she single handedly carried our extremely young and inexperienced Lady Cougar squad, leading them to the most wins in school history (17) and almost their 4th AAC title in a row. Alyssa has been the most dominate player in the AAC for the past three years and this season she had one of the best statistical seasons in the entire state of GA! She nearly averaged a triple-double in points, rebounds, and steals. Would have done so in assists but we had a lot of missed catches and layups. She had 14 double-doubles and what is neat about that she did it in three different ways. Points and rebounds (which is usually what you see), points and steals, and in points and assists. She also led her team in blocks and charges taken. She added 4 triple-doubles this season: most by any male or female at our school. We have an All-Star game in our league, and she recorded 18 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 steals leading her team in victory. So Proud!"
