Natalie Smith has been named player of the year. "Natalie Smith, a senior forward, led the Wildcats in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. She scored 387 points, grabbed 227 rebounds, added 78 assists, had 41 steals and 36 blocked shots (2nd best season at Nitro). For the year, Natalie was named to the West Virginia AAA All-State First Team (Captain), Cardinal Conference 1st Team and All-Kanawha Valley First Team. It is Natalie's second time being named to each of the post-season teams. It is also Natalie's second NSN/MaxPreps Player of the Year Award. Natalie played two years at Nitro, transferring after her sophomore year at South Charleston. In her short time at Nitro, Natalie impacted the school record book. While playing for the Wildcats, she grabbed 457 career rebounds, which is the 6th on the list. With 84 blocked shots, Natalie owns the school record. Natalie has signed to play at the University of Charleston"
