Brody Martin has been named player of the year. "Congratulations to Brody Martin being selected as the Watauga High School Lacrosse Most Valuable Player for the 2024 season. Brody is the team's defensive center, the cornerstone of the defense and an outstanding player that gives his very best in every game. He exemplifies everything a coach wants in a defensive player: huge hustle; big size/strength/speed; sound and consistent defensive technique with excellent position play; highly aggressive; excellent game and field IQ; excellent ball handler; and a never quit attitude. He is an encourager to all his teammates, a source of inspiration and grit to his team during games, a strong leader and great captain, and a pace setter when it comes to work ethic. He is an all-around terrific kid, very coachable, has a great attitude and always goes the extra mile. Brody was All Conference 2nd Team at defense, #1 in ground balls and #2 in takeaways for WHS lax, and #3 in conference and #4 in the NC 4A West for takeaways."
