Stat keeping for basketball teams
Loran Jaddou has been named player of the year. " Loran Jaddou is a three-year starter at strong safety for Brother Rice and is one of the team’s hardest hitters. As a team captain this year, he has been an inspiration to his teammates with his play on the field and his leadership off the field. Jaddou was at his best late in the season when we were fighting to make the playoffs after a 1-3 start. Against the five toughest teams on our schedule, he was in double digits on tackles four times and had nine tackles in the fifth game. In the first annual Warrior Classic against traditional rival Detroit Catholic Central, ranked #1 in Michigan at the time, Loran came up big. He led the team in tackles with 12 and had three tackles-for-loss and a late game interception to seal the upset victory. He was named MVP by Great American Rivalries, the production company that broadcast the game nationally. In another must win against Indianapolis Cathedral, Jaddou tied for the team lead in tackles (10) and had two tackles-for-loss (9 yards) and a key sack (8 yards). In the Prep Bowl against #1-ranked Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, Jaddou had nine tackles, a fumble recovery, a pass break-up and a blocked punt. He was also the primary tackler on a goal line stand at the end of the game, which stopped St. Mary’s on the half-yard line to capture the 17-14 victory. Overall this season, Jaddou was the team’s second leading tackler with 82 (52 solo). Many of these tackles were in the opposing team’s backfield and several were downfield as the last line of defense to save a touchdown. He led the team in tackles-for-loss with nine (26 yards) and has been the team’s best “ball hawk” throughout his career. He has an uncanny ability to come up with loose balls. He’s had eight fumble recoveries in his career, along with 228 tackles, five interceptions and 18 pass break-ups. We’ve had many great defensive players over the years and Jaddou ranks up there with the best. Loran excels in the classroom and has a 3.8 GPA. "
