Da'montra Yates has been named player of the year. "OFF THE FIELD I STRIVE TO BECOME A GREAT LEADER TO MY COMMUNITY AND TEAM. I DEMONSTRATE THIS BY CONTRIBUTING IN COMMUNITY SERVICE. I ALSO HELP MY TEAMMATES AFTER PRACTICE BY TUTORING THEM AND HELPING THEM WITH HOMEWORK. AS A TEAM LEADER I MADE SURE EVERYONE WENT 100% DURING PRACTICE TO MAKE SURE WE WILL BE READY FOR OUR NEXT GAME. I ALSO PREACHED TO THEM HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS TO BE A TEAM PLAYER AND PLAY THEIR ROLES, BY DOING THIS WE BECAME A BETTER TEAM TOWARDS THE END OF THE SEASON. I AM A MEMBER OF BETA CLUB AND NTHS. MY EDUCATION IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. MY CURRENT GPA IS A 3.4. MY MOST RECENT COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT WAS AN EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT THAT I HELPED MY FRIEND WITH. WE CLEANED OUT A COURTYARD AT RED SPRINGS MIDDLE SCHOOL AND PLANTED TREES AND FLOWERS. ON THE FIELD I ALSO GO 100% AND DO WHATEVER IT TAKES FOT MY TEAM TO WIN. I WILL BE ATTENDING WINSTON-SALEM STATE ON A FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP. I RECENTLY HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE FOR BASEBALL. I ALSO MADE ALL-COUNTY AND ALL CONFERENCE IN FOOTBALL. "
