Santana's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the El Cajon Valley Braves with a sharp 10-0 victory. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sultans yet this season.

Gavin Kelly made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

In other batting news, Landon Braaksma was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Davey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Santana always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Santana's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-12 record. As for El Cajon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Santana will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Braves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
