The stretch drive is here for regular-season play for Northern California baseball. League championships will be settled this week and next. The first CIF Northern California Regional tournaments will follow section championship play.

1. Buchanan (Clovis)

Update: The Bears are the top-ranked team in the Central Section and by The Fresno Bee. Buchanan won two of three games against Central of Fresno in Tri-River Athletic Conference action, including a 7-0 effort as Austin Watson pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts.
2. Woodcreek (Roseville)

Update: Top-ranked by The Sacramento Bee, the Timberwolves have won 22 consecutive games, including a 4-1 decision over Oakmont of Roseville in nonleague play as Conner Barth had a two-run triple and Woodcreek received dominating late pitching by
Braeden Sloan. Woodcreek on Wednesday plays Archbishop Mitty for the Boras Classic championship, which was rained out earlier this season.
3. Valley Christian (San Jose)

Update: The Warriors are in the thick of the West Catholic Athletic Conference championship, riding a seven-game winning streak as
Jacob Hudson and
Alec Belardes combined on one-hitter in beating Riordan of San Francisco 6-1. The big win was 7-5 win over Saint Francis, which included a home run from
Tatum Marsh.
4. De La Salle (Concord)

Last week: 4
Update: The Spartans are in the mix for the East Bay Athletic League crown, standing at 10-1 in league play with wins over Dougherty Valley of San Ramon (11-2) and over Monte Vista of Danville (14-0). The loss last week was a nonlegue affair to Granite Bay, 10-5.
5. Saint Francis (Mountain View)

Update: The Lancers had their 15-game winning streak halted by WCAL rival Bellarmine Prep of San Jose, 6-3, then beat Riordan of San Francisco 14-3 before falling to another WCAL rival in Valley Christian, 7-5. The WCAL race is going down to the wire.
6. Franklin (Elk Grove)
Record: 19-5 |
Last week: 6
Update: Ranked second by The Sacramento Bee behind Woodcreek, the Wildcats did not play last week and conclude Delta League action this week with three games against Sheldon of Sacramento.
Nolan Stevens has had a tremendous season on the mound for Franklin.
8. Foothill (Pleasanton)

Update: The Falcons are in the midst of a title chase in the deep East Bay Athletic League that includes De La Salle and California. Last week, Foothill beat Granada of Livermore 9-0 as
Jackson Flora and
Ryan Keenan combined to strike out six and Dublin 6-2, a game in which
Jack Basseer had a grand slam.
9. California (San Ramon)
Record: 18-4 |
Last week: 7
Update: The Grizzlies play Foothill on Wednesday in a big EBAL contest as the teams are right behind De La Salle in the league standings.
Nic Bronzini tossed a three-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 6-1 win over San Ramon Valley of Danville.
Aidan Camberg homered in a 6-3 win over Dougherty Valley.
10. Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose)

Update: Here come the Bells, who impressed in a 6-3 win over Saint Francis in WCAL play to halt a 15-game winning streak behind sluggers
Matthew Dicicco and
Diego Enriquez each doubled. Bellarmine also beat Serra of San Mateo 9-3 and Mitty of San Jose 3-1.
11. Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa)

Update: The Cardinals posted wins of 15-2 and 4-0 over Rancho Cotate of Rohnert Park behind hitters

Update: The Mustangs rolled Centennial of Bakersfield 20-8 and 10-4 with

Nick Brown driving in five in the first game. In the second meeting, Austin Charles drove in five off a homer and two doubles.

Update: The Eagles beat Clovis East 6-2 and 7-1 before falling to top-ranked Buchanan 6-3 with two more games against the top-ranked Bears looming this week.
Cayden Munster has driven in a team-high 25 this season while batting .477.
15. Clayton Valley Charter (Concord)

Update: The Ugly Eagles had nonleague wins over St. Patrick-St. Vincent of Vallejo (12-1) and Vacaville (12-5) then beat Miramonte of Orinda 10-5 in Diablo-Foothill League play. CVC and Acalanes are tied for first place in league and cap the regular season with a two-game series.
16. Archbishop Mitty (San Jose)

Update: The Monarchs in WCAL play beat St. Ignatius of San Francisco 13-1, lost to Bellarmine Prep 3-1 and beat Riordan of San Francisco 11-4. On Wednesday, Mitty plays for the Boras Classic NorCal championship against No. 2 Woodcreek, a game postponed from last month due to weather.
17. Elk GroveRecord: 19-8 |

Update: The Thundering Herd beat Delta League rival Jesuit two of three times, winning 5-4 and 5-4 and losing 6-3. Then there were wins over Cosumnes Oaks of Elk Grove 9-3 and 13-3 this week, setting up a regular-season finale against the same team on Thursday.
18. Whitney (Rocklin)

Update: Members of the tough Sierra Foothill League that has been dominated by No. 2 Woodcreek, Whitney has had a tremendous season, including sweeping Del Oro of Loomis 4-1, 11-10 and 3-2 and then beating Oak Ridge of El Dorado Hills 2-1 and 9-1 with one game against that same team this week to cap regular-season play.
19. McClatchy (Sacramento)

Update: The Lions repeated as Metropolitan Conference champions with wins of 11-0 and 3-1 over River City of West Sacramento behind ace
Gabe Henderson and sluggers such as
Malcolm Moore, who has 13 home runs this season. Henderson struck out eight in the first win over River City and struck out nine in a 4-0 nonleague win over Vista del Lago of Folsom.
