Not much got past Caden Lauridsen, who gave up just a hit to keep Servite off the board. Lauridsen has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jaxon Foshay was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Evrett Rycroft, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Yucaipa's hitters rose to the challenge against a Highlanders pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.1 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds put the hurt on Royal with a sharp 17-2 victory. The Thunderbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Xavier Romero made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Romero was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs. He has become a key player for Yucaipa: the team is 13-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Scribner, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Damian Cordero was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Yucaipa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in ten consecutive games.
Foothill's win bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Yucaipa, their victory bumped their record up to 20-10.
Foothill couldn't quite finish off Yucaipa when the teams last played back in March of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
