Donne, Maya Moore, Nneka Ogwumike, Breanna Stewart and A'ja Wilson, who
all went on to win the WNBA's Most Valuable Player award.
Read on for a look at girls basketball's best heading into the 2025-26 season.
First team
6-2 | Guard | Senior (Class of 2026) | USC
The top-ranked player in the senior class, Hall averaged
20.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals last season at Montverde Academy. She can handle the point, score in bunches and is a lockdown defender.
5-6 | Point guard | Junior (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted
The MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year averaged 23.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and
4.5 steals as the Knights (30-2) finished No. 5. Smith was also the freshman of the year and considered by some to be the No. 1 overall player regardless of class.

One of a handful of incoming seniors still to announce their commitment, she averaged 26.9 points, 10.2
rebounds and 2.1 steals as the Trailblazers went 28-3
and finished No. 15 nationally in 2024-25.

Considered to be the top post in the prep game, she averaged 19.2 points, 17.9 rebounds, 5.5 blocked shots and 3.8 assists

The MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year made an immediate impact for the Knights. She averaged 17.8
points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.8 steals as Ontario Christian went
30-2 and won the Southern Section Open Division title, the school's first crown.

Enters the season with 4,454
career points and could make a run at not only the state scoring record,
but a top 10 finish on the all-time high school mark. She averaged 32.8
points, 8.7
assists, 7.2 rebounds and 4.8 steals per game as the Lions went 29-0
with a Class 2A title.
5-10 | Point guard | Senior (Class of 2026) | North Carolina
A repeat MaxPreps All-American, she could surpass 3,000 career points this season. Last year, she averaged 32.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.1 steals, 3.3 assists for the 29-3 Eagles.
6-2 | Post | Senior (Class of 2026) | Iowa
Among the top five rated players in her class, the future Hawkeye is coming back from a season-ending ACL injury last season. Her timetable looks favorable as the Monarchs look to reach a sixth straight Open Division final. At the time of her injury, she
was averaging 22.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

game and threw down a dunk in a game last season. She helped the Panthers to a 28-1 record and the Class 6 District 8 final berth.
