The Aquinas Academy Crusaders will be home for the holidays to greet the Montour Spartans at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Aquinas Academy will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Monday, Aquinas Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Rochester, taking the game 54-45. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Aquinas Academy has scored all year.
Violet Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Fisher, who scored 14 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Montour humbled Fort Cherry with a 58-17 victory. That 58-17 margin sets a new team best for Montour this season.
Aquinas Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Montour, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
