The Pine-Richland Rams had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They snuck past McDowell with a 61-56 win on Friday. Pine-Richland's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Pine-Richland to victory were Catherine Gentile and Madison Zavasky. Gentile scored 24 points, while Zavasky dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Zavasky has scored at least 25% of Pine-Richland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maren Iski, who scored five points.
Pine-Richland's win bumped their record up to 1-6. As for McDowell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
