Peter Lambert of San Dimas earned Player of the Year honors from the National High School Baseball Coaches Association, the Southern Section, the Los Angeles Times, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
Now MaxPreps has selected Lambert as the California Medium Schools Player of the Year. The No. 44 overall pick in the Major League Baseball Draft by the Colorado Rockies, Lambert put up impressive numbers in 2015, going 13-0 on the mound with a 0.34 ERA and 113 strikeouts in 83 innings pitched. He also posted five shutouts on the season in helping lead San Dimas to a 31-1 overall record.
Coach of the Year: Bill Kennedy, Piedmont Hills (San Jose)Kennedy's Pirates posted a 21-7 record and were the No. 16 seed in the Central Coast Section Division I playoffs. Piedmont Hills won all four of its playoff games, defeating the No. 1 seed North Salinas in the opening round and eventually defeated Pioneer (San Jose) in the championship game.
The MaxPreps Medium Schools All-State Team consists of a first
and second team with 30 players each. The players are chosen from
schools that belong to state enrollment divisions that generally have
between 1,000 and 2,000 students.
