The McGuffey Highlanders put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Rochester by a score of 65-55. McGuffey's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Taylor Schumacher continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of McGuffey's points. Another player making a difference was Libby Mallah, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
McGuffey's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Rochester, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3.
McGuffey won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Carmichaels at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Carmichaels will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 562nd, while McGuffey is ranked 147th). Rochester is on the road again on December 28th and play against Moon Area at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th.
