The Chestnut Ridge Lions's five-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Philipsburg-Osceola 55-15 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Chestnut Ridge has managed all season.
Chestnut Ridge was led to victory by Maya Wingard and Isabella Hillegass. Wingard dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals, while Hillegass dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wingard has scored all season. Ashlie Weaver was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Chestnut Ridge's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
Chestnut Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Somerset at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Somerset will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 526th, while Chestnut Ridge is ranked 261st). As for Philipsburg-Osceola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Huntingdon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
