The Centennial Huskies captured the CIF Open Division championship and finished the season ranked No. 2 in the MaxPreps Top 25 national basketball rankings. Not surprisingly, the Corona school also claimed the MaxPreps California Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors as well.
Donovan Dent, who earned third team MaxPreps All-America honors, is the state Player of the Year. He earned player of the year honors from the Los Angeles Times, Riverside Press-Enterprise and the CIF Southern Section. He averaged 16.2 points per game and led the Huskies on a 30-game win streak.
Centennial coach Josh Giles also earns state coach of the year honors. MaxPreps has already awarded Giles National Coach of the Year honors after his team finished No. 2 in the nation behind Duncanville (Texas).
Other state Player of the Year honors go to Aidan Mahoney of Campolindo (Moraga) in Division 2, Noah Thomas of Pleasant Valley (Chico) in Division 3, King-Nihsanni Wilhite of Archbishop Riordan in Division 4, Tyler Terry of Chaffey (Ontario) in Division 5 and Caleb Comfort of Turlock Christian in Division 6.
Schools are placed on all-state teams based on the enrollment division they competed in during their section playoffs (not the state playoffs). Teams the played in open division brackets were placed in their enrollment division as determined by its section.

Koat Keat, Crean Lutheran (Irvine)

The
Orange County Register's all-county player of the year, Keat averaged
17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks for a team that
reached the CIF Southern California Regional Division 1 final. The
CIF-SS Division 2A player of the year as a junior, Keat was CIF-SS
All-Open Division as a senior.
Amari Bailey, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth)

played only 15 games this year, but still led Sierra Canyon to the Open
Division Southern California finals. He averaged 18.5 points and 5.6
rebounds.

in two years. He averaged 17.2 points for the state champion Huskies.

of the leading scorers in the state with a 33.5 average with 6.5
rebounds and five assists, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Jamari Phillips, Modesto Christian (Modesto)
6-3 | Guard | Sophomore Led the Crusaders to the CIF Open Division championship game before
falling to Centennial. Phillips averaged 23 points per game and is
regarded as the No. 15 sophomore in the nation by 247Sports.

The
Metro Player of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle, he averaged 23.3 points per game in leading the Crusaders to a Central

Cavaliers reached the Southern Section Open Division finals behind the
play of Dunlap, who averaged 16 points, four rebounds and three assists,
according to the Los Angeles Times.

all-county pick by the Orange County Register and all-area by the Los
Angeles Times, Davidson averaged 17.9 points and 8.8 rebounds.

points per game. He earned All-CIF Southern Section honors and all-area
