It was a good run, but the Delphi Community Oracles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They suffered a tough 58-33 loss at the hands of Sheridan. Delphi Community has struggled against Sheridan recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Oracles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Roth, who scored ten points along with five steals. Roth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Lacey Pickering was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Kenzie Garner was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds for Sheridan. Garner hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nova Cross, who scored 16 points.
Delphi Community's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Sheridan, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delphi Community will take on Tri-County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tri-County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Thursday. As for Sheridan, they will head out on the road to challenge Clinton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton Central is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Sheridan a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
