The Thornton Academy Trojans will challenge the Kennebunk Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Thornton Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
If Thornton Academy beats Kennebunk with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Trojans never let Windham get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Trojans have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Brayden Duane was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Fullerton, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Thornton Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Kennebunk didn't have quite enough to beat Sanford on Thursday and fell 5-3. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Garrett Taschereau put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Taschereau wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Tillotson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Kennebunk's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Thornton Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Thornton Academy got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Kennebunk by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
