Centennial (Peoria) 36-17 in the only MaxPreps Top 25 matchup of the week. The win clinched the No. 1 seed in the AIA Open Division playoffs that get underway in two weeks. It was the fifth straight victory for the Lions after a 42-35 loss at No. 20
Centennial (Corona, Calif.). It was the first loss of the season for the Coyotes.
Senior quarterback
Navi Bruzon completed 17 of 24 passes for 371 yards and three touchdowns to go with 139 yards on the ground. He connected with
Braylon Gardner on two long touchdowns and put the game out of reach midway through the fourth quarter with an 11-yard TD pass to
Ryan Jezioro. It was the fourth straight win for the Lions over Centennial.
The biggest upset of the week came late Saturday night as
Mililani (Hawaii) beat No. 8
Kahuku (Hawaii) 28-21 in the OIA Open Division championship. The Trojans snapped the Red Raiders 31-game winning streak against in-state competition. Junior quarterback
Kini McMillian threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns to go with 114 yards rushing and another score. Kahuku erased a 21-7 deficit and tied the game early in the fourth quarter but McMillan's 1-yard touchdown run with just over six minutes left ended up being the difference.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) improved to 11-0 with a 63-12 win over
Coronado (Henderson) in the NIAA Class 5A Division 1 semifinals. They will face
Liberty (Henderson) in the 5A state championship on Nov. 21. The Patriots are the second-ranked team in the state. These two met on Sept. 14 and the Gaels rolled to a 49-6 win.
Isaac Wilson led the Chargers to a 35-21 win over
Lone Peak (Highland) to advance to the 6A semifinals. After the game was tied at 14 at halftime, Corner Canyon outscored the Knights 21-7 in the second half. They take on
Lehi next Friday.
The Eagles won their seventh game in a row with a 35-0 victory against
GlenOak (Canton) in the second round of the Division I bracket. The back-to-back DI state champs will face
McKinley (Canton) next Friday.
