We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Parkview: 2.7, Jackson County: 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Parkview is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Blessed Trinity, who was ranked third at the time (Parkview was ranked 14th). Parkview fell just short of Blessed Trinity by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Andres Jimenez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parkview saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malachi Washington, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Washington a new career-high. Emani Ford also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Jackson County finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of North Oconee by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Jackson County also got a good showing from Charlie Crowe, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, Crowe didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
Jackson County's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Parkview, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Parkview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jackson County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
