The Rio Americano Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Oakmont Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rio Americano has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Oakmont will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Saturday, Rio Americano suffered a rough 53-27 defeat at the hands of El Capitan. While losing is never fun, Rio Americano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 956th, while El Capitan is ranked 270th).

Meanwhile, Oakmont was able to grind out a solid win over Laguna Creek on Thursday, taking the game 59-47.
Rio Americano has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Oakmont, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Rio Americano was able to grind out a solid victory over Oakmont when the teams last played back in November of 2018, winning 53-44. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Oakmont's Preet Gill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
