Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2020-21 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.
Dylan Khalil of
Sanborn Regional (Kingston) is the 2020-21 MaxPreps New Hampshire High School Basketball Player of the Year. The senior shooting guard averaged 22 points per game while leading the Indians to a 10-5 record.
Khalil scored 1,056 points in his career and was named the state's Mr. Basketball by the New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization. He put up a season-high 33 in a January game against Oyster River.
In addition to Mr. Basketball honors, Khalil earned Division II Player of the Year after leading Sanborn Regional to the state semifinals.
Khalil is also a standout off the court, winning the Jack Ford Award for combining community service with academics and basketball.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released April 13
