Even though the Clearfield Bison have not done well against the Penns Valley Area Rams recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Clearfield snuck past Penns Valley Area with a 64-58 victory. Winning may never get old, but Clearfield sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Clearfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cayleigh Walker led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walker has scored all season. Hannah Glunt was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds.
Clearfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Penns Valley Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearfield will take on Bedford at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bedford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Clearfield is ranked 214th). As for Penns Valley Area, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Richland at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Richland is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
