Liberal won the last time they faced Ulysses and Xavier Tafoya did his part to make sure it happened again. The Redskins breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 38-8 on Friday for which the team can thank Tafoya, who rushed for 240 yards and two scores while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Blayden Betts also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles.

One reason for the win was Liberal's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Tafoya was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Liberal's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Ulysses, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Liberal will welcome Hays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ulysses, they will head out on the road to take on Guymon at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
