The Scripps Ranch Falcons waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 51-34 victory over Christian. Given Scripps Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Christian is ranked 738th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Scripps Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michelle Kramer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ree Ree Davis was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.
Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jazmyn Bugg, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Bugg scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Sanchez, who scored ten points.
Scripps Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.
