Julian Ornelas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Immanuel is 7-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise. Ornelas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Seth Thomas was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Garabedian, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Wasco not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 14-0). They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Hanford West. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Immanuel, Wasco also got a great game from a two-way player: Damian Santos. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Santos was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arturo Gonzales, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Nathan Palos was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Wasco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanford West only posted a batting average of .190.
Wasco's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Immanuel, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.
Immanuel got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 against Wasco by a conclusive 14-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
