The Centaurus Warriors will face off against the Brighton Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Centaurus sitting on 11 straight victories and Brighton on three.
Ten must be Centaurus' lucky number: they beat Arvada with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Warriors came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 10-7. Centaurus' win was all the more impressive since the Bulldogs were averaging only 3.29 runs allowed on the season.
Noble Paw was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Fannin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Brighton came out on top against Northglenn on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Norsemen.
Laikyn Lanzen was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Suki Mizunaga, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Ella McHugh was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Brighton's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Centaurus, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Centaurus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Centaurus might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Brighton when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
