The Westview Wolverines will square off against the Otay Ranch Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Westview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Westview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Santana as they made off with a 14-7 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the game before.

Jacob Kuy and Charles Jaskowiak were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Kuy tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Jaskowiak tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Kuy got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Jaskowiak got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Jaskowiak a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Tyler Bissessar looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Joseph Arango-Manley was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Eli Irvine, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Westview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santana only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, Otay Ranch earned an 8-4 win over Mater Dei Catholic on Wednesday.
The team relied heavily on Santiago Araiza, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Jonny Sanchez was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.
Westview is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Otay Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 18-11.
