Derrick Henry has etched a prodigous career over the course of the last four years. MaxPreps documents his run at history, as well as other milestones throughout his storied tenure at

Sept. 4, 2009 - Derrick Henry debuts as a ninth-grader on Yulee's varsity football team. He rushes for five touchdowns and nearly 200 yards despite barely playing in the second half.

Nov. 13, 2009 - With a victory over Paxon, Yulee wins its seventh game of the season, breaking the school's record for wins.
Nov. 19, 2009 - Yulee's season ends with a loss to Providence. Henry rushes for 190 yards and a touchdown. He finishes his freshman season with 2,465 yards in 11 games.
Dec 26, 2009 - Henry is a first team All-Area selection by the Florida Times-Union.
Jan. 15, 2010 - Despite his prodigious freshman year, Derrick Henry
finishes runner-up for National Freshman of the Year honors to Kelvin Taylor, who rushed for 2,597 yards and 47 touchdowns in leading Glades Day to a state title.
Feb. 9, 2010 - Henry is the only freshman
to crack the Class 2B all-state team.
May 4, 2010 - Henry is featured as a "Freshman to Follow" for Florida State in the
MaxPreps Team Recruiting Rankings.
Aug. 9, 2010 - Just weeks before his sophomore season, Henry earns a spot on
an early Class of 2013 Top 100 Watch List, with the description, "Mammoth athlete who may have a future at another position."
Sept. 10, 2010 - In Yulee's season-opening game against Englewood, Henry erupts for 337 yards and six scores.
Sept. 26, 2010 - Highlights from Henry's freshman season
hit YouTube and quickly make the rounds with fans and coaches.
Nov. 11, 2010 - Yulee downs Paxon again. This time, it's the team's ninth win of the season. Henry rushes for 242 yards and six touchdowns. The team earns a berth in the Class 2B playoffs.

Nov. 19, 2010 - Following a playoff loss to Trinity Catholic, Henry concludes his sophomore season with 2,689 yards and 38 touchdowns.
Jan. 6, 2011 - This year, Henry gets the best of Taylor, with whom he'll be inextricably connected. He wins
National Sophomore of the Year honors, highlighting a team that also features Taylor, Max Browne and Thomas Tyner. Yulee head coach Bobby Ramsay compares Henry to Natrone Means and Eric Dickerson. He tells MaxPreps that, while Henry is comfortable with the Florida State coaching staff, he has a desire to play in the SEC.
July 6, 2011 - Henry travels to Oregon to
participate in Nike's The Opening, where he ranks among the best athletes at the event despite competing against a field of mostly incoming seniors.
July 15, 2011 - In a surprise move, Henry
makes a verbal commitment to play for Georgia. He commits the same night as John Theus and Brice Ramsey, two other local blue-chip recruits. Days later, Ramsay says he is surprised by the move, but says Henry is not fickle. Still, he says he expects schools to continue recruiting Henry. "We'll see if it sticks."
Sept. 2, 2011 - Now a 6-foot-4, 220-pound junior, Henry is even more imposing. Still, Yulee loses its season opener to Gainesville and then drops a nationally televised contest to Buford (Ga.) the following week.
Oct. 14, 2011 - In a loss to First Coast, Henry is held to 101 yards, a career low. It is the 29th-straight game in which he tops 100 yards.
Nov. 20, 2011 - With 308 yards against Taylor County, Henry sets the
all-time career rushing record for Northeast Florida with 7,646 yards, shattering Ciatrick Fason's mark of 7,479. Yulee's season ends with a playoff loss a week later. Henry finishes with 2,610 yards on the season and 7,861 for his career.
Jan. 3, 2012 - Derrick Henry earns
First Team Junior All-American honors as Georgia defensive end Robert Nkemdiche takes home the National Junior of the Year award.

Feb. 2, 2012 - With Henry leading the way, Georgia checks in at No. 3 in the
early Class of 2013 Team Recruiting Rankings, one full year before he will be able to sign a National Letter of Intent.
Apr. 9, 2012 - Tom Lemming's first
Class of 2013 Top 100 is released. Henry debuts at No. 11.
June 13, 2012 - After months of speculation, Henry
decommits from Georgia and begins exploring other options.
Aug. 30, 2012 - To kick off his senior campaign, Henry rushes for 336 yards against Gainesville, bringing his career total to 8,200,
third-best in state history.
Sept. 14, 2012 - For the 37th game in a row, Henry rushes for 100 yards, tying the all-time record.
Sept. 21, 2012 - Henry rushes for 100 yards in the 38th-straight game. He hardly stops there, as he goes off for 502 yards in a victory over Jackson,
a career best and a Florida state record. Along the way, he surpasses Emmitt Smith on the all-time state rushing leader board. He trails only Kelvin Taylor, whose eighth-grade statistics count for state, but not national, records.
Sept. 28, 2012 - In a game dubbed the greatest running back matchup in the history of high school football, Henry squares off against Taylor. Henry outshines his counterpart, rushing for 362 yards. Hours before the game,
Henry announced his commitment to Alabama. He joins a recruiting class that already features top running backs Atlee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones.
Oct. 3, 2012 - On the strength of his performance against Glades Day, Henry replaces Oregon standout Thomas Tyner as
the leader in the National Player of the Year chase. That week, he tops 100 yards for the
40th straight game and sits at 9,807 career yards.
Oct. 12, 2012 - Against defending Class 7A runner up First Coast, Henry
tops the 10,000-yard mark for his career, breaking loose for 196 yards in a 37-23 loss.

Oct. 13, 2012 - With three regular season games and an anticipated playoff game, Ken Hall's record seems to be within reach for the first time. Through seven games, Henry has averaged 309 yards. If he maintains the pace for four games, he'll nip Hall's record by seven yards.
Oct. 19, 2012 - Henry
erupts for 455 yards in a 56-30 victory over West Nassau.
Nov. 3, 2012 - Henry is barely 500 yards away from Ken Hall's record. Yulee head coach Bobby Ramsay says
the two have hardly talked about it.
Nov. 9, 2012 - In Yulee's last regular-season game, Henry goes off for 404 yards on the road,
bringing him within 102 yards of Ken Hall.
Nov. 14, 2012 - Ken Hall says he will congratulate Henry if he breaks his rushing record.
Nov. 16, 2012 - Henry sits on 11,131 yards. Ken Hall's record holds tenuously at 11,232. Henry
will attempt to break the record in Yulee's playoff opener, a home game against Taylor County, against whom Henry topped 300 yards in the playoffs as a junior.
