The high school football season in Indiana came to a close over the weekend of Nov. 24-25 with the crowning of six state champions.
Ben Davis (Indianapolis) was among the winners, beating Crown Point for the Class 6A state football championship. That victory helped propel the Giants to the No. 1 ranking in the final MaxPreps Indiana Top 25.

Thomas Gotkowski led the way in the title game, throwing for 152 yards and three touchdowns.
Four-star junior
Mark Zackery, who has 27 Division I offers, was on the other end of six receptions for 86 yards and a score.
Alijah Price ran for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns while
Zane Skibinski scored twice on Gotkowski passes. Four different Giants intercepted a pass in the finals.
Center Grove (Greenwood) (11-2) fell to the Giants 37-34 in overtime in the Class 6A semifinals to grab the No. 2 spot while
East Central (St. Leon) (15-0) became one of four Indiana schools to finish the year undefeated after claiming the Class 4A title with a 42-14 triumph over North Wood to sit No. 3.
With the four touchdown win, East Central wrapped up their second straight Class 4A state football title while running its winning streak to 21 straight. The Trojans outscored their opposition 740-97, posted seven shutouts on the year and held 12 foes to single digits.
