The Kennedy Fighting Irish's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight defeat. They fell 50-38 to Cypress. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kennedy in their matchups with the Centurions: they've now lost seven in a row.

Perhaps the best among them was Riyin Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Stewart scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeleine Hsu, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Isabella Caceres, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds for Cypress. Another player making a difference was Sara Shigekawa, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Kennedy's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Cypress, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-11.
Kennedy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mariners at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacifica presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Fighting Irish in California (the Mariners are ranked 283rd, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 637th). As for Cypress, they will head out on the road to challenge the Saints at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Crean Lutheran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
