Softball Recap: Sterling Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sterling entered their tilt with Limon on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Badgers with a sharp 14-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emerson Ross made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Ross was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, Makenzie Beck and Kira Perez did most of the damage at the plate: Beck went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Perez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Perez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Beeson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Sterling's record now sits at 11-9. As for Limon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Sterling wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-6 defeat against Brush on the 2nd. As for Limon, they have also already played their next game, a 15-9 victory against Rocky Ford on the 7th.
