Softball Recap: Shaw Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jordan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shaw). They blew past the Jordan Red Jackets 21-3 on Thursday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Red Jackets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Skylar Lockhart and Camryn Powell did most of the damage at the plate: Lockhart went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Powell went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That RBI was Powell's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaiden McBurnett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Shaw's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Jordan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Shaw will challenge Taylor County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jordan, they will square off against Marion County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
