The Central Valley Falcons can finally bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Lassen by a score of 51-43. The victory was just what Central Valley needed coming off of a 62-42 loss in their prior game.
Kylie Mason was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 28 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Harley Wilson, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Lassen still got an impressive performance from Brook Medovitch, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nellie Ratcliff, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Lassen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Valley only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Central Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Lassen, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Valley will take on Yreka at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lassen, they will be playing at home against West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
