Quincy is returning to their home field after beating Brown County on theirs, despite the fact Brown County has dominated at home this season. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Hornets on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

James Day made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Lawson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Kade Parkhill, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Jacksonville came out on top against MacArthur on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Crimsons blew past the Generals 10-2. The Crimsons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.
Cy Kershaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.
At the plate, Joe Reif and Nolan Peters did most of the damage at the plate: Reif got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Peters went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Peters a new career-high. Jack Rohlk was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Jacksonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MacArthur only posted a batting average of .160.
Jacksonville's victory bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Quincy, their win bumped their record up to 19-11-1.
