The Durham Trojans will face off against the University Prep Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Durham sitting on 12 straight victories and University Prep on four.
Durham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Pierce as they made off with a 15-2 win. Considering the Trojans have won 18 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

MASON CONNER and Jason Ritzert made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, CONNER tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ritzert struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At bat, CONNER went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ritzert went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, JACK DRAKE was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. TOMMY MELLO was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Durham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, University Prep beat Central Valley 4-1 on Friday.
The team relied heavily on Tyson Wurzer, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. University Prep is undefeated when Wurzer posts one or more home runs, but 9-14-1 otherwise.
University Prep's victory bumped their record up to 12-14-1. As for Durham, their win bumped their record up to 27-1.
University Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Durham hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for University Prep, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Durham's hitters?
Durham skirted past University Prep 5-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
