Matt Rosenthal looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh Lewis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Taylon Sheriff, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Canyon Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy made easy work of Hoover on Tuesday and carried off a 13-5 victory. Considering the Stingrays have won 14 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Coastal Academy got a massive performance out of Samuel McCoy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Jenkins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Canyon Hills' record is now 24-7. As for Coastal Academy, their record now sits at 22-7.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Canyon Hills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Coastal Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
