America's resource for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2021 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.Braylin Presley
is the 2021 MaxPreps Oklahoma High School Football Player of the Year. The 5-foot-8, 170-pound running back helped the Spartans go 13-0 and capture the Class 6A-II state football championship.
In a 63-14 win over Deer Creek in the title game, Presley carried the football 14 times for 158 yards and three touchdowns and caught six passes for 33 yards.
During the playoffs, Presley ran the football 33 times for 350 yards and five touchdowns over three games. He also caught nine aerials for 61 yards and another score.
Listed as Oklahoma's No. 8 prospect for the Class of 2022 by 247Sports, Presley ran the football for 1,105 yards and 17 touchdowns on 109 carries for the year and caught 56 passes for 665 yards and an additional seven scores.
The Oklahoma State commit also returned five punts for 38 yards, returned a pair of kickoffs for 107 yards and a score and completed all three of his pass attempts for 82 yards and a touchdown. Presley ran for 4,978 yards and 75 touchdowns over his four year career at Bixby and reeled in 145 catches for 1,684 yards and 23 more scores.
During his best game running the football, Presley torched Stillwater for 233 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in a 42-14 win Sept. 17. On Oct. 14, Loren Montgomery's star player caught 11 balls for 151 yards and two touchdowns in a 58-14 triumph over Page.
Presley was also named MaxPreps 2020 Oklahoma Football Player of the Year after running for 1,744 yards and 25 touchdowns and reeling in 57 aerials for 727 yards and another 10 scores.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which will be released in early January.
