The Frazier Commodores suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Clairton 63-27. While losing is never fun, Frazier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while Clairton is ranked 243rd).
It was another big night for Iyanna Wade, who scored 43 points for Clairton. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Wade has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was J Childs, who scored ten points.
Frazier has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Clairton, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Frazier will be playing in front of their home fans against California at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Clairton will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Winchester Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
