The Midway Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Rosewood Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Midway's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Midway's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Wallace-Rose Hill 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won three games by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Wesley Tew made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Midway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .686 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Rosewood suffered their biggest loss since April 9, 2025 on Friday. They lost 14-0 to C.B. Aycock. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
Midway pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rosewood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Midway has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .587. However, it's not like Rosewood struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Midway came out on top in a nail-biter against Rosewood in their previous meeting back in March of 2020, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
