With the high school football regular season around the midway point in California, several players have hit the stat sheet hard. In California alone, 28 wide receivers have recorded at least 600 receiving yards.
Cameron Theiss of
Palm Desert leads California with 837 receiving yards. The senior averages 167 yards per game and against Central on Sept. 2, Theiss had a career game. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder caught 12 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-26 win.
Judah Douglas of
Temple City is second with 786 yards. The sophomore has at least seven receptions in each of the Rams five games. In a 40-26 over Mountain View, Douglas had 10 catches for 239 yards and three touchdown grabs.
Matt Long of
Vista del Lago (Folsom) is another player to watch. In a four game stretch from Aug. 25 to Sept. 17, the junior had 657 of his 782 receiving yards including a 212-yard, four-touchdown performance against Granite Bay.
