The Jacksonville Crimsons will head out on the road to face off against the Quincy Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Jacksonville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Jacksonville came out on top against MacArthur on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Crimsons were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Generals. The Crimsons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.
Cy Kershaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.

On the hitting side, Jacksonville let Joe Reif and Nolan Peters run wild. Reif got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Peters went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Peters a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Kruzan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Jacksonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MacArthur only posted a batting average of .160.
Quincy came out on top against Brown County on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Hornets. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
James Day made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Cameron Lawson was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Mason Powell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Quincy's victory bumped their record up to 19-11-1. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 24-7.
Jacksonville beat Quincy 7-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimsons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
