- No. 25 Mitty was the last team to qualify for the Central Coast Section playoffs and is still alive and well. Seeded 16th and last in the Open Division, the Monarchs stormed to this week's semifinals to face rival and No. 2 Valley Christian. One contest between the West Catholic Athletic League programs ended in a 7-7 tie in eight innings, and Mitty won 3-0 in 13 innings in another game.
- Del Oro eliminated Sac-Joaquin Section Division I top seed Vacaville 7-3 in Vacaville's first outing after Del Oro had bounced Jesuit (Carmichael) 10-8 days earlier. Del Oro was eliminated by Oak Ridge 16-6.
- Previous No. 2 Saint Francis had its season end to Leigh (San Jose) 4-3 in a Central Coast Section Open Division opener.
- Elk Grove, despite mass graduation from its last two teams that won Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championships, is rolling again behind USC-bound ace
Riley Lamb and No. 2 arm
Brian Freitas.
