Carroll has gone a perfect 6-0 against Bellmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Chargers will look to defend their home field against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Bellmont will be up against a hot Carroll squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Chargers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Homestead. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Jayce Richards looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carroll's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adler Kellams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Kellams is becoming a predictor of the Chargers' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Carter Irons was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Bellmont nor East Noble made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Knights 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won five in a row.
Beau Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks.
Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Bellmont, their win bumped their record up to 8-10-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Carroll has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bellmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Carroll skirted past Bellmont 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
