The Fox Chapel Foxes on the road again on Thursday and play against the Mars Fightin' Planets at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Fox Chapel suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-19 loss at the hands of North Hills. While losing is never fun, Fox Chapel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while North Hills is ranked 179th).
Meanwhile, Mars came up short against Hampton on Monday and fell 54-42. Mars has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alexis Cashdollar, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Day, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Fox Chapel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mars, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Fox Chapel opened the new year with a less-than-successful 66-57 loss to Mars. Can Fox Chapel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
