The Yucaipa Thunderbirds will square off against the Royal Highlanders at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Yucaipa comes in on 11 and Royal on three.
Yucaipa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Paraclete. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderbirds have posted since April 14th.

On the hitting side, Damian Cordero and Xavier Romero did most of the damage at the plate: Cordero went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI, while Romero went 2-for-3 with two runs. Romero has become a key player for Yucaipa: the team is 12-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Royal ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out El Modena 4-3.
Royal gave Dustin Dunwoody the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Dunwoody has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Royal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Stout, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Yucaipa's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Royal, their win bumped their record up to 24-3-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Yucaipa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332.
