The Union Area Scotties's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-30 walloping at the hands of Blackhawk. Union Area lost against Blackhawk in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-22 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blackhawk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubree Hupp, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was Hupp's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Kinger, who scored 14 points.
Union Area has fallen quite a ways from their 23-6 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Blackhawk, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Union Area and Lincoln Park Performing Arts will round out the year against one another at TBD on Thursday at. Blackhawk won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kennedy Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Kennedy Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
