The Torres Toros suffered their closest loss since November 13, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Hoover by a score of 52-49. Torres has struggled against the Patriots recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Toros players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sabrina Cerrillo, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. J'Lynn Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three blocks.
Torres' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. As for Hoover, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-11.
Torres will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyside has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 10. As for Hoover, they will be playing at home against the Rough Riders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
